Welcome to

Foster Youth

Success initiative

Mission Statement

The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) sponsors a concerted effort called the Foster Youth Success Initiative (FYSI) to bring issues affecting foster youth and former foster youth to the forefront and to improve the ability of these youth to access postsecondary education and benefit from the support services that are available but often unknown to them.

The Foster Youth Success Initiative Liaison:

  • Understands your situation and is sensitive to your needs and challenges
  • Helps link you to resources at the college and in the community
  • Assists you with applying for Financial Aid
  • Connects you to on-campus and off-campus resources
  • Connects you to an Academic Counselor to create an Educational Plan

For information contact:  Xiomara.Martinez@sjcc.edu or 408-298-2181 ext. 3688

You are likely eligible for this program if you:

  • Are a foster youth or emancipated youth residing in Santa Clara County
