San José City College will be launching the MESA Program this Spring 2023 semester. With the launch of the new program, the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office has awarded SJCC a $1.4M MESA grant for the next five years. MESA is intended for first- generation college students and students historically underrepresented in calculus-based STEM fields. The program aims to produce a diverse population of transfer-ready students to advance their STEM educational journeys in 4-year universities. MESA will provide services such as academic counseling, tutoring, internship opportunities, professional development, community building, and a dedicated study center. The MESA Center is located in M-101.
