Financial Aid is available to those who qualify.

 

To qualify for Financial Aid you must:
  • Have a valid social security numb
  • Have earned a high school diploma, or GED
  • Register with Selective Service if applicable (males between the ages of 18-26)
  • Enroll in an eligible degree or certificate program
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Not have defaulted on a prior Federal Student Loan or owe a refund on a Federal Student Grant

  • Submit a complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
  • Be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Have a valid Social Security number. 
  • Have earned a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Register with Selective Service if you are male and between the ages of 18-26.
  • Enroll in an eligible degree or certificate program at SJCC.
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). 

To apply for financial aid, complete and submit the FAFSA or CADAA. SJCC's Federal School Code is 001282. Remember to renew your application annually. 

SJCC offers various types of financial aid, including:

  • Federal Student Aid: Grants, loans, and work-study programs.
  • State Aid Programs: California College Promise Grant, Cal Grant, and Student Success Completion Grant. 
  • Scholarships: Various scholarships are available based on different eligibility criteria.

The California College Promise Grant (formerly known as the Board of Governors Fee Waiver) waives enrollment fees for eligible California residents attending community colleges.

The Cal Grant is a California financial aid program that provides funds to eligible students based on financial need, GPA, and other requirements. It can be applied to tuition, room and board, or books and supplies.
