San José City College and America’s 250th
The American Dream in Action
For more than a century, San José City College has helped turn potential into opportunity. Since opening in 1921, SJCC has prepared generations of students, first-generation college-goers, working parents, veterans, and career changers, for meaningful work and stronger communities across Silicon Valley.
As the nation marks its 250th anniversary, we’re recognizing the students, graduates, faculty, and staff who carry that story forward: proof that where you start does not have to determine where you finish.
Building Silicon Valley, Strengthening America
San José City College sits at the center of one of the most dynamic regional economies in the country. Our Career Education pathways connect students directly to the industries shaping Silicon Valley and the nation, health care, skilled trades, technology, business, and public service among them.
Every Jaguar SPOT reflects that mission: helping students find their pathway, build real skills, and move into careers that support their families and communities. When a student earns a credential at SJCC, that achievement ripples outward, into local hospitals, classrooms, businesses, and civic life.
Community Partnerships
San José City College’s America250 story is also the story of the employers, civic organizations, and community partners who work alongside us to prepare students for what comes next.
