Basic College Skills Right on CUE
SAN JOSÉ/EVERGREEN COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT is first in Northern California to join National Student Success Initiative.

KinderCaminata San José City College will sponsor our 4th Annual KinderCaminata, a child-oriented “career fair” on campus, Thursday April 23rd from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. to celebrate "The Day of the Child" (El Día del Niño). More than 850 kindergarten students from the Alum Rock Union School District will walk through our San José City College campus moving through a series of career stations to learn about various professions. KinderCaminata gives these children the promise of higher education as well as the ability to experience information regarding different careers.

Biotech Bootcamp San José City College’s (SJCC) third annual Biotech Bootcamp begins Monday, August 18, at the college’s state-of-the-art Science Complex, and continues through Friday August 22. Incoming high school seniors from biotech magnet school Andrew Hill High School (AHHS) will learn advanced biotechnology lab techniques and participate in DNA experiments, but more importantly be exposed to life on a college campus through their time at SJCC and during a visit to UC Santa Cruz early in the week. more...
YESS Program We are pleased to announce that San Jose Evergreen Community College District was chosen by the Foundation of California Community Colleges to house the Youth Empowerment Strategies for Success (YESS) Program. SJECCD was chosen as one of eight districts statewide to house this new foster youth program.

On April 15th nearly 500 Kindergarten students from the Alum Rock District will take busses to San José City to walk through a series of career stations and learn about various professions. KinderCaminata will give these children the promise of higher education as well as the opportunity to receive information regarding different careers.

SJCC Graduate Named Recipient of $30,000 Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship
Joan Danenberg, who graduated from SJCC on May 25th, received the Jack
Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.There is no larger scholarship, or one involving more competition, available to community college students
